Farah Sayed is a mother, poet, storyteller, gardener,
event coordinator and founder of The
Lemon Tree, an environmental
based project focused on unifying mother
nature, art, music & literature to raise awareness on the environment. The Lemon Tree was nominated for the
Roshgold Young Achievers award in 2018. Sayed is the English Poetry Editor for
the women’s writing collection called Womandla.
In August 2019 she was awarded the Women of Wonder Award. Her local South African trademark
collective Poetry People was founded in December 2017 to promote and celebrate
local poetry from diverse origins. Her work has been featured on both local and
international platforms, alongside legendary musicians, poets and creatives.
Farah draws inspiration from her ancestral teachings, healing, and ancient art
forms. She writes from observance, expression from the depths of an inquiring
mind exploring the various layers of colours within life and the universe.
