Flow Wellington is a queer, female
writer of Khoi/Bushman heritage. She has been published locally and
internationally through a number of mediums including Badilisha Poetry X-Change, Poetry
Potion, Poetry Institute of Africa,
Atlanta Review, and anthologies such
as South Africa’s first jazz anthology To Breathe into Another Voice, to
name a few. She is the author of two self-published collections: The Undelivered Score (2011) and Gau-Trained, poems & stories (2018),
and the owner of publishing company Poetree Publications. Wellington is also a
long-listed author for the Sol Plaatje Poetry Award, and the recipient of a
2019 African Authors Award for GauTrained.
She spent a few years as part of the Eastern Cape label, TruSight Music
(2008-2009) and collaborated with renowned musicians such as the Dyer Tribe,
and hip-hop artists Early B, Static and more. Flow also curated the Eastern
Cape Book Festival 2014 & 2015. To date, her company has published 24 book
titles for local and international writers in poetry, short fiction, children’s
literature and autobiography.
