Kothai
also known as Andal (around 850 AD), one of the 12 Alwar saints known for their
affiliation to the the Srivaishnava tradition of Hinduism, is
the author of two revered works of Thiruppavai and Nachiyar Thirumozhi. Her
poems reflect a deep love for Krishna/Vishnu whom she addresses as the Lord of
Vengadam (present day Tirupathi). Andal (Godha in Telegu) as per legends
married Vishnu and is revered as a deity in Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh.
