Acrid Folklore

--- Archan Mitter

When day breaks into darkness,

Your glimpse once in a blue moon,

Tremors of lantern midst wild winds,

Leaden penumbra of social cocoon.

Hiding from evil grins,

That mock our tears of innocence,

Your warmth stabbed in muddy dread,

Faraway from that glittering fence.

Caressing carnival of carnage,

Where lies fly in welkin of sooth,

You are lost in acrid folklore,

Alas! breathing ain’t so smooth.

Conquering swiftness to ride oneness,

No rocks below, no thunder above,

Feeling the moist meadow of heaven,

You are peace, you are love.

Camouflage of anonymous existence,

On colorful highways of illusion....
