The Concert Outside

Drumbeats
and guitar strings
Set the
heart afoot;
People
tapped and swayed
Gyrating in
a frenzy.
But in a
far corner
The beetle
felt neglected
And the
bees buzzed without an audience;
So, I stepped outdoors.
And lo
behold, there was a different music altogether.
The trees
were rustling in the breeze;
Parrots and
sparrows flapped their wings,
And made work seem like fun.
The
gurgling river, not to be outdone,
Spoke the story of dreams and hopes.
And I,
stepping barefoot on the grass,
Joined the beetle in its little dance.
As my toes
tingled
And the
dappled sunlight brushed against my neck,
I raised my
arms skywards,
Joining in
the euphoria of the concert outside.
