Ant Life

It’s fun to watch the ant in summer.

It is clueless in heat.

In a random moment

It scampers on warmed tiles.

I don’t mind it getting on me;

It sends a tickle up my short-clad leg.

I have to brush it off.

It’s ready to take over my storming thoughts.

It is afraid of my approaching arm.

I leave it to its play.

A black, six-legged bug

Trails onto my summer nights

foreseeing some rain.
