Message From the Heavenly Man

The sorrows of the blind world afflict me|
Drowning me in an ocean of deep pathos.

The blood of humans flows like a stream of water.

Cries of pain and anguish rend the still air.

Like the dust of a storm, the sins of man rise upwards.

The wondrous sky is darkened with my grief.

Man’s holiness and aura are now damned:

And stars no longer sparkle to charm one’s eye.

Seeing God’s Creation spoiled by the selfish man,

Both the sun and the moon, eclipsed, mourn this loss.

Mankind has suddenly woken up

From a deep slumber only to discover

The ozone layer melting, rivers diverting,

Fauna, flora disappearing – with concrete

Jungles, deserts, and marshy lands coming up all over.

Massive manmade fires are destroying deciduous forests

And aeons-old flourishing ancient trees

Where umpteen birds of all hues nestled;

Where ecological balance and harmony existed;

Where beautiful gardens of bliss flourished;

Where nightingales and cuckoos sang sweet songs;

Where swans swam gaily in freshwaters.

Where migratory birds came to procreate and rear the young;

Where fodder was aplenty for all fauna;

Where atmosphere was healthy with fresh air;

And where no dangers existed for any living species.

Now man the wicked hunted tigers,

Deer, bison, elephants, and every rare

And endangered species,

For his sports, for ivory, for their hide.

He polluted the Ganges and every other sacred river,

Destroying the Piscean world.

Migrating birds are missing their trees and ponds;

Frog-legs are served on dinner tables;

Snakes are killed, and fauna and flora are destroyed

For skin for belts, wallets, purses, and bags.

Now what more is left for man!

As the Divine man is seeking justice

The Heavenly Man passes this Message

To the erring mankind:

“Keep ecological balance and symbiotic harmony

And protect nature with its variety and beauty.

Oh, marauding selfish man! You ought to stop

Destroying nature for your pelf and sports

And letting dangerous chemicals into rivers.

Replenish the greenery, forests, hillocks,

And lakes. Stop testing nuclear weapons in Oceans.

Restore the scenic beauty at least now

Before the sinner man disappears

Along with the endangered flora and fauna.”
