Inward Bonding

Unknown baseless fears push me

To keep self away from animals which I relate to inward...

They, sure, know me more than my ilk whose surficial gauge

Does oft yield an account inaccurate, impalpable.

The soft spot for the rest of creation lies within deep, hidden

Visible and palpable by it, with remote sensors sensible,

Sensitive to my latent love, be it flora or fauna.

Stray dogs, two, lurking across streets, condition themselves

To peep through the holes of the big iron gates at time precise...

Can check time, as they innocently long for the fistful of food

Offered, stretching, pleased in anticipation, on sight of food at the same site.

This truth elicited on search for canine behavioural patterns…an urge for mutual comfort –

Disciplined, wait for instructions to eat...a daily regime!

They monitor our movements, mine and family’s keeping guard at the gate.

My inner fear of their cranky, impulsive intuitions stands sentinel in all dealings.

The other pals are cows run on business in religious veil

Worn by nomadic races who hire them on wages and...

Order them to walk miles and miles wading through unruly traffic,

Rough and ruffled roads ruling them over with a stick in hand...

Even cows carrying their babies within, a scene unbearable to be seen…

A teary layer blurs my vision when their eyes meet mine and their eyes too teary!

Their eyes talk to me furtively, weary of the chaperon.

They tell me their agony and I plead with their master for the day – to take them back.

But...only our common tears remain.

They, sure, are not willing to lose earning on the voiceless.

So ruthless and selfish are we, tapping sources from nature for content on intent.

Boundless greed and apathy deforming the mightiest of the universe into dwarfish inhuman sets.

Oh, God…you and only you transform these back to normal.

Our silent prayers to the Creator will someday bring a change in human heart…

May that day arrive soon!
