Rm Shanmugam Chettiar was born in 1941,
graduated in Biology, served in the Rubber Board, Gov. of India and retired in
2002 as Dy Rubber Production Commissioner. A poet, editor and translator, he
has authored 10 volumes of poetry, one of them translated into Hindi and one
into Tamil. He has translated 3 books of Tamil poetry into English. He lives
with his wife in Chennai.
