Educated in English Literature at Loreto House,
Calcutta, Tanya Mendonsa later on spent 20 years in Paris, painting,
doing a degree in French Literature and running a language school. Returning to
India 20 years later, she has 6 books under her belt. Her two collections of
poetry, The Dreaming House, and All The Answer I Shall Ever Get were
published by Harper Collins, as is her memoir, The Book Of Joshua – The True Story Of A Dog
Who Loved The World, a testament to her enduring love affair with animals. She has
collaborated with the French photographer Laurence Toussaint on two boutique
books for which she wrote the text The Bed of Flowers and Infinite Memories
(Ed. Signum, Paris). She now lives in the
Nilgiris, whose mystical landscapes illuminate her latest book, The Fisher
of Perch – A Fable for our Times, a long poem illustrated by Design Foundry.
