Urmila Chakraborty was born in 1946. She
did her M.A. in English Literature from Calcutta University and Ph.D. from
Jadavpur University, Kolkata. A former Professor of English in North Bengal
University, she has published ten collections of poems in Bengali and one novel
in English along with three other books in Bengali (translation and research).
Her poems have been included in national and international anthologies.
