Usha Rajagopalan

 


Usha Rajagopalan is a writer, translator, and a lake conservationist. She has received national and international recognition like The Quest Poetry Prize and three times consecutively in the Commonwealth Short Story Competition organized by the Commonwealth Broadcasting Foundation. She was awarded the Andrew Fellowship in Fiction at the University of British Columbia and Charles Wallace Fellowship at the British Centre for Literary Translation, University of East Anglia. She was a writer in residence at the Sangam House International Writers’ Residency and at Le Chateau de Lavigny.  Usha has been nurturing the Puttenahalli Lake in south Bengaluru since 2008 through the Puttenahalli Neighbourhood Lake Improvement Trust which, among others, received the prestigious Namma Bengaluru Award, 2012.
