Vandana Kumari Jena, a former civil
servant belonging to IAS (Orissa cadre 1979 batch), retired as Secretary to
Government of India, Department of Land Resources, Ministry of Rural
Development. A writer by inclination, she has published 2 novels, The Dance
of Death (Har Anand Publication), and Clueless (Lifi Publications
2019); 4 collections of short stories, The Incubation Chamber (Lifi
Publications 2014), The Future is Mine (Ocean Books 2015), One Rotten
Apple (Niyogi Books 2018), and Over the Edge (Rupa 2022) and a
non-fiction In the Middle (Ocean Books 2015) containing a portion of the
over 200 middles she contributed to every leading newspaper in India. Her poems
have been published in 7 anthologies. She lives in Delhi.
