Theme: Compassion
Ours is a world on the verge:
global warming is an undeniable fact that is shaping our everyday life and will
generate mass migrations; animal species are under threat of extinction or
treated as modern-day slaves whose lives are considered disposable and
ungrievable; the natural world is exploited to the point of no return; human
interactions are often marred by political agendas or biases in our war-ridden
world. What we should recover to restore balance in our multifaceted family —
composed of human and non-human animals — is compassion. Poems, articles on
poetry, interviews engaging with the various dimensions and articulations of
compassion are warmly invited.
