The Unseen Bridge
--- Arghya Mukherjee
A hand extended through the winter frost,
A quiet word when all the world is loud,
To find the soul that feels forever lost,
And lift the veil of every heavy cloud.
It does not ask for kinship or for name,
Nor wait for gratitude to pave the way;
It feeds the gutter’s spark into a flame,
And turns the bitter night to softest day.
It is the listener in the crowded room,
The heart that mirrors back another’s grief,
A sudden flower in a desert bloom,
The steady hand that offers sure relief.
No wall is built so high it cannot breach,
No distance exists that it will not span,
A silent lesson only love can teach:
To hold the fragile spirit of a man.
It is the thread that binds the broken whole,
The grace that mends what anger tore apart,
The ancient, healing language of the soul,
Written on the chambers of the heart.
